Garmin Mini 3 review

Buy this if hiding the camera is the job. Skip it if you need night plates, or parking that runs after the engine is off without extra Garmin cables and subscriptions.

The Mini 3 is Garmin’s small camera. Published resolution is 1080p at 30fps. There is no named Sony STARVIS 2 sensor on the public spec. That is why evidence and night are both C: it is built to disappear, not to hand an insurer a readable plate at 9pm.

Parking Guard exists on the sheet. Garmin’s manuals say you need an always-on 12V cable or the parking-mode cable. Some live-view and alert features sit behind Wi-Fi and Garmin Vault. That is parking as an accessory stack, not parking in the box.

GPS is not in this camera on its own. Garmin lists GPS when it is paired with another GPS-enabled Garmin cam.

If you want discreet and still want a plate, take the VIOFO A119 Mini 2. It is a little larger. The sensor and the parking spec are in a different class.
